Scan to email is great when used efficiently

Scan to email

Most multifunctional products permit users to scan to email. No news here. The surprise is that few of those users use this feature to its most productive extent.

Taking extra steps to send a document

Typically, users scan documents back to their own emails address, and only then do they send them on to whomever or wherever they want them to go. Why do they send them back to their own email address?

The reason is invariably due to the awkward facility on most multifunctional products to accurately name the documents they are scanning.  The touchscreen rendering of a keyboard is temperamental and using it is frequently a frustrating experience. To avoid this, these users send the document to their own email.  Then they retrieve it.  Then they rename it. Then they send it. Lots of steps and wasted time.

Removing unnecessary steps

The solution is a multifunctional device that employs a real built-in QWERTY keyboard.  Users can use their keyboarding skills to easily name the document and send it to any location in the MFD address book.  The QWERTY keyboard is also useful when needing to enter an email address or network pathway.

True office productivity

All of this is accomplished during the one visit to the MFD to scan.  The documents are everywhere you need them by the time you get back to your desk or access your mobile device.  That, my friends, is MFD productivity.
