Printing problems

Nothing is more frustrating than technical difficulties in the middle of the work day. Unfortunately, when you’re working with multifunctional printers, scanners, copiers and office automation equipment, there are bound to be malfunctions every now and then. Brock Office Automation is happy to bring you the next post in a series to help overcome and prevent common device problems.

Today we’re talking Common Printer Problems: Cost Per Printed Page

When it comes to office budget, your Cost per Printed Page plays a significant role. We often hear people complaining about the cost of printing and we have solutions. Believe it or not, cost per print is declining, but there are other ways to make your cost lower.

Think before you print

Do you really need to print that email? What about that full document — maybe you only need a page or two? Make sure you and your colleagues are only printing what is necessary. Is this just for personal use? Stick with printing in draft mode and sparing your toner or ink and leave high-quality prints for presentations only.

Multi-Page Printing

Along with considering what you print and the print quality, keep multi-page printing to a minimum. Double-sided printouts or multi-page prints can help you keep under budget in paper costs. It’s simple math: less page printed = less money spend.

High vs. Low Capacity Cartridges

Find out if your printer gives you the option of low-capacity or high-capacity cartridges. Higher-capacity cartridges do cost more as an initial investment, but they can print more pages, lowering your cost per page.

When in doubt, call for service

Sometimes, the issue is something you can’t fix on your own so don’t be afraid to call your service department. The last thing you want to do is fiddle with your machine and make the problem worse. Your technicians know your machine inside and out and will gladly solve your dilemma.
