Brock Office Automation Story
A lifetime St. Catharines resident, Mike Gammon, created the company to satisfy an indentified need not being serviced by the firms of the day; a vision to do a better job than previous firms were doing, especially for other locally owned and operated small businesses.
After working in telecommunications and office equipment for 8 years around the Golden Horseshoe, Mike created Brock Copier Company in 1990 and located in the Brock Business Park; kitty-corner to his alma mater; Brock University.
Brock Copier Company was created to support small and mid-sized businesses in the photocopier and facsimile segments of the office equipment industry. Buoyed by early successes, the company quickly added larger firms and organizations as clients, never forgetting the needs of small and mid-sized Niagara businesses. The product offering also grew and changed.
The mid-1990s saw a digital revolution that changed the business forever. This change and the impact it was having on the company were the impetus behind the company name change to Brock Office Automation. The company was now much more than photocopiers and fax machines.
Our products and services are now digital and networked, and include:

Fully integrated multifunctional devices (MFDs) that copy, print, scan and fax; in B&W and in full colour; with network applications to make your business life better.

The same MFD benefits in wide format to architectural, engineering and surveying professionals; copying, printing and scanning up to 36” wide media and laser printing on Mylar… in full laser colour.

Dedicated scanning systems; portable for the accounting professional, heavy-duty for the data archival professional and everything in-between.
We maintain our traditional paper-handling equipment like folders, inserters, collators and shredders. Naturally, we still have the standalone copier and printer and the fax. Dot-matrix printers will always be available for those who employ multi-part forms in their workflow.
A newer avenue for the company has been presentation and instructional systems. Projectors, electronic whiteboards and large monitors with applications for the boardroom, the classroom and the lobby/entrance/waiting room are part of who we are today.

Noteworthy
Brock Office Automation has served the office automation and digital imaging needs of regional organizations and companies; large and small since 1990. We were recognized in the 2005 Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in the Innovative Small Business category and the Established Enterprise category, being a finalist in the latter. Mike has been a member of the numerous industry dealer associations, most recently on the Xerox Dealer Council. Mike is a long time member of the Chamber of Commerce, a two-time President of the St. Catharines Advertising Association and former Board Member of the St. Catharines Business Club and St. Catharines Golf & Country Club.
Community Involvement
We encourage all of our staff to support and give back to the community in anyway they can. Brock Office Automation supports many local community charitable and fund-raising efforts with special participation in golfing and running fundraisers through our well-known water bottle campaign. We have been a long-time supporter of the annual Canal Days Festival and other events. Most recently, we are involved with the Citizens Committee assisting St. Catharines City Council to establish a new Spectator Facility in the City.
